ISLAM IS THE SOURCE OF SCIENCE

 

 Islam is divinity and the last revelation religion that was brought by prophet Muhammad SAW. Because of that, Islam was the most complete religion. Its guidances and laws embrace all of matter both in the world and in the next day. Part of the matter is about the way of prayer, about the way of social intercourse about knowledge and soon.
Talking about knowledge islam give an obligation to seek knowledge for every moslem both man and woman. It was declared by our prophet Muhammad SAW in his hadits as-syarif :
" It is an obligation to seek knowledge for every moslem both man and woman.
This hadits told us about knowledge in the most inclusive meaning include all of branch of science. Not just religion science but also the others like medicine, philosophy, chemistry, economic, astronomy and all of the science and technology that can give walfare and peacefull life for all human being and all creatures in this world.
To explain about the value of knowledge and the high position for educated people, Allah SWT said in the 11th ayat of surat al-mujadalah : "Allah SWT makes higher position of faithful person among all of you and the person who we given knowledge to several grades."
Moreover, the prophet Muhammad SAW said in hadits as-syarif that means : "The death of one tribe is easier to be suffered and not to be considered with the death of one educated people. According to islam, an educated people have the essential grades to unedecated people.

The advance of science and technology that we can feel at this moment as a matter of fact it all originate from muslim experts at the past time. Their faithful to Allah SWT and their love to al-Qur'an make them always read try to understand its matter. They try to prove the truth of ayats that contain so many things about science by examining deeply trough their experiment. And what is the result ? they have found the truth of Al-qur'an that added their faithful and conviction to Allah SWT and also they found the amazing science from Al-qur'an that makes astonished the western experts at the time.
Here are some moslem expert with their invention that shows us how was the influence of islam to the development of science and technology :

• Mathematic

Al-khowarizmi. He was a moslem who expert in Mathematic. He was recognized  by western shcolar group as the inventor of zero numeral. His book that contains so many thing about Mathematic formula had been translated into several languages by western expert.

• Chemistry

Jabir ibnu hayyan who well know as the father of chemistry. He had written a proximately 500 books, most of western expert use the material from his books makes medicine. His books firstly translate into Greek and English by robert choster  (An English man) with name "Book of the composition of Al-chemy".

• Medicine 

Ibnu sina who was called A VICENA by western people. He was A moslem doctor who had been recognized by western expert. In the age of 21 years he begin to write book about medicine. His book that had been translated into several language is "AL-QONUN FI AT-THIB" that contains so many thing about the rule of medicine. This book mostly used in several university in europe, because of that he was called as the father of medicine.

• PHILOSOPHY

Ibnu ruyd who was called AVEROUS by western people. He was a great moslem philoshoper. With his islamic thingking, he had carried europe to the gateway of renaissance. Baside him, there were still a lot moslem philosopher like : AL-Ghozali, Al-farobi, Al-kindi etc.
Before science from islam appears, the western countries had been stayed at the dark time about science. But after moslem expert make the amazing inventions, not a litle from western who came to learn to them, at last they unfold the knowledge from islam which had been obtained become modern technology. If we conclude it all, we can say that islam is the source of knowledge as well as the science. It is a brige connects the progressing of science in every time. Without the invention from moslem expert maybe the science will stay crawl and grope and the picth-dark world.

Now, the western expert had precceded us with their science and technology. The most important thing we must do this time we have to read and learn more, like it was ordered by Allah SWT at the first ayat of Al-Qur'an : IQra' that means : read, Al-Qur'an as the guidance scripture had been guided all human being to the happiness in world and in the next day. Its connection with science Al-Qur'an give motivation to human to use their mind and to search knowledge as much as possible because it embrance many thing about knowledge though it was just in general for the next, because of those, the development of knowledge often make the expert forget source of science. In another word, we must islamize us and always guide us in this way.
